Hey guys,
Hope you are all well. I was having a browse on t'internet and found this: (follow link) http://www.svrider.com/tips/retard.htm Anyone here tried it? Is it bullsh*t or worth a try???? Yes, many have done this, have a search about for TRE or similar.
There won't be an enormous change if you remove the 2nd and 3rd retard wires, but in reality as the timing is twiddled in order to pass noise regs it's performance, albeit minor, you'll get for free.

This has been discussed before and the jury is still out.
I did mine a long time ago and can't remember it being a huge difference. Others have had their bike dyno'd before and after with no visible improved power curve. However, as the article states, it must retard the engine enough to pass the tests at time of manufacture, so any improvement is worthwhile when it's free and easily returned to normal in 5 mins. |
