A can without a baffle in theory may release a couple of extra HP. Some cans release more than others, and to get the full benefit you want to have it remapped if its a K3+.
It may cause an issue with your insurer - some are bothered about aftermarket cans, and some don't seem to mind. Some people tell their insurer, and some don't. If you have a crash & Mr Plod thinks it may have been influenced by 'excessive speed' then your insurers may cite the new can as an excuse to invalidate your insurance - and that's even without being restricted to 33bhp, so I suspect your insurers might jump up and down a bit ![]() It's worth giving them a call just to check - at least you canthen weigh up the risks ![]() |

so even though the output of the engine is restricted to 33bhp a can will increase it? when i had my 125 and rang up my insurance (had my 33bhp lience) they didnt have a problem with it, and aksed if it would add any power, i imagine theyd do that this time, and i wouldnt know if it would or not due to the restriction,

just to update, rang up insurance, said not a problem with exhaust as long asd its road legal and doesnt enhance the power of the bike over what im aloud to have, i said well i reckon iot may increase it by like 0.1 of a horsepower beings that the engine is restricted to 33bhp by the cdi unit, he siad well thats nothing there bothered about it adding stupidly small amounts, added a note onto my file and said yeh go ahead its ok for you put one on thanks for ringing us,

Sounds like a good result - common sense from an insurance company!

On the curvey bikes the restriction is not done on the CDI its with restrictor plates or sliders in the carbs.
