Hi all, im a 16yo lad from Spalding, Lincolnshire.

Im waiting till i turn 17 in June before putting in for my bike exams etc. Been into bikes for as long as i can remember and my parents have agreed that if i pay for all my lessons and tests, they will go halfs on a second hand SV.

Really cant wait... why is it when you want something so much time just goes so slow!?

Welcome

Fantastic choice of bike of course, but what made you go for the SV?

I wanted a 600cc bike, the likes of gixxers, ZX6's etc are gonna be too much on insurance for me to afford. SO i looked at the likes of hornets, fazers, but wasnt to taken by their riding positions.. a bit too much up right for me... wanted something abit more "head down bum up".

So i sat on a few SV650S's and it just felt right. Plus the insurance shouldnt be too high, and theres something soul stirring about a V-twin too. It just seems like the right choice.

Not forgetting they are great sports bikes to start learning your skills on

Though, be careful on roundabouts and shutting off the throttle in 1st while cornering! you'll be in for a shock if you do that!

Welcome to the madhouse, just take it easy and dont be in a rush to do anything.

Take it easy and get to know the bike before you even think of going fast

Indeed - still gets me from time to time, especially on wet roads. :P Welcome and take care when you get your bike.

Cheers Keith
