trouble getting neutral? - SV650.org

went out yesterday for a 40mile spin around the bridgenorth area and when i stopped at a local pub to warm my hands i couldnt get neutral, bugger me i try'd everything but to no avail. ended up turning the sv off with the clutch held in! after a hand warming session i started her up in first gear with the clutch in and just pulled away, from that point on everything was ok. so does a very hot engine effect the box or what? it hasnt happen'd before.

Normally something simple like oil level too high/too low can cause this (or indeed, chain too tight/slack

)

will check those things, i'm doing its 4k service sunday so prob a change of oil will help.

thats where i went for the stuff madmal, good value. better than the £130 my local dealer wants.

mine was playing up recently. Could change up but not down unless I was accelerating... made filtering interesting to say the least.

Turns out there was salt and grime on the some part of the outside causing it. Think he said it was the cam/shim between the gear shifter rod and the gears themselves.
Im sure Rictus or Sid will be along to give the proper technical term for it, wasnt really paying attention as I was very late for work.
