Default Time for a wash...

OK, clear your weekend and give your car/bike/dog/lawn/etc a good wash - hosepipe ban starts in many areas on 3rd April

I wonder how many folks are going to get a rain-butt? I'm certainly considering it. It will fill up of course, which will then get you thinking "well how come there's a hose-pipe ban?"...

I'm thinking about a water butt - not sure you can fit them to the type of drainpipe which we have, but you could still fix up some sort of collector to it.

It's actually a bit annoying that I can't water my veggies using a hose because they're in a 'private garden' rather than an 'allotment'. I'll end up using the same about of water but just taking twice as long!! Also, how come commercial companies can still wash their cars, etc using a hosepipe but I can't use one to grow food??

I have 6ft fences and a hose at the end of the garden that goes into my garage/car port area which has a large up & over door. I could clean my bikes and nobody know if it were with a hose or bucket....

But the 'Blade needs a clean after a full day of riding in the rain yesterday, so I'll probably do it today.

We've had a hosepipe ban in Sutton since the start of this month

I wanted to get my enormous paddling pool out this summer, but won't be able to fill it now. I've heard that my water authority are going to apply for an emergency drought order (or something similar) that will stop all sorts of water usage, presumably including commercial carwashes and also the use of buckets for washing cars/bikes, and they have plans for standpipes

I saw in the Metro that the fine for using a hosepipe was £1,000

I don't think I'll risk it

It's all about utilisation. Obviously all the rain is just evaporating and not being used or collected. Maybe we should stop drinking too!

It's rained lots here over the past 3 months.
