Default My suspension issues

I think my rear shock needs a bit of setting up.

Ive got a 020 on the rear with a ZX6 A1P shock. Other note that the forks have been dropped by 1/2cm

The problem is that in the dry the rear slides out & sometimes feals like its spinning up a bit when leaning over. It also tail wags on high speed turns. Another thing is that if you ride over a dip in the road the back kicks up. Other than that normal riding seems to be ok without bouncing around front or rear.

I've got a similar issue on my gixxer. First thing i checked was wheel alignment, next was wheel bearings.

Now i'm working on rebound dampening as i've set the shock back to its stock settings.

Bearings are new on the rear, front are fairly new but they have no problems when last checked. Wheel alignment, will check again but sure its ok.

Im sure its the shock being set completley wrong, i never changed the settings when i got it as it seemed ok at the time.

It could be a number of things. Too soft , too hard . A bit more information needed. What's the spring rate of the spring , the length of the shock. Is the spring rate suitable for your weight?

Everything else OK? ie wheel alignment , steering bearings adjusted correctly

Cheers
Ben

Its down to the fact that the ZX6 shock is too hard for the SV650. There is also far too much rebound damping for the bike, hence why the back kicks up. Its ok getting shocks from other bikes to fit but you do have to take into account the fact that the settings on that shock wont be made for the SV650.

Just a standard ZX6 A1P shock with 75kg kittedup on the bike.

Not a big big problem as i may be putting a penske shock on the bike thats comming off a SRAD. I will send it back to be revalved and sprung correctly.

It would be the double clicker.

There will most likley be a full front SRAD 600 RWU swap with reworked internals as well.

I thought the ZX6 spring was the same rate as the SV's?

I dont understand this spring rate stuff. The kwak shock is def a stiffer shock for the heavier rider.
