Help with info- Private Plates - SV650.org

I have a plate on retention with the DVLA, I wish to now assign it to my car.

The DVLA forms are written by NASA rocket scientists and are not the clearest in the world.

1. Does it cost anything to assign it to a car from retention?

2. Do I need to send off the V5 and what part needs signing?

3. What is the validation character all about.

can you not go to your local dvla to do it? i did the woman was most helpful & sorted it all out for me.....................which was nice
