I just purchased a 2000 SV650 and it is having problems with the turn signals. The right signal works fine, but when I click the left one on, the lights on the dash and the mileage display blank momentarily and the signal does not come on. When I try the right signal again, it does not work. If i switch from high to low beam a few times the right signal will reset itself. Also, turning the key off then on resets it as well. When looking at the wiring diagram, I found the controlling unit to be the turn signal/ kick stand relay which is right next to the fuse box(I did check fuses and blown bulbs). I took a look at the relay and it doesn't appear to be damaged, but it is solid state, so who knows what could have gone bad in it. Has anyone else had a similar problem? I want to swap out the relay, but would like to make sure it's not something else, ie; wiring short, before I drop 60 bucks on one. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you checked the bunch of wires coming out from the back of the head light? Sometimes the wire cover gets worn away (from rubbing on frame) and causes weird problems.....
