I have a curvy, I don’t know if they improved the front brakes on the pointy?, but lets face it one word describes the SV’s front brakes ‘uninspiring’!!!
![]() I have braided hoses and new pads, but they are still a little lacking for my taste really. ![]() I am not going to get stupid and buy some aftermarket setup, so my question is! Are there any 4pot callipers (and accompanying master cylinder) that fit directly on the SV forks and disks??? … say off a GIXER6 or even from a different manufacture, say off an R6?? That way I could hopefully source a 2nd hand set and whack them on, job done!! ![]() ![]() |

Or buy those expensive brackets from the states, and fit gixxer calipers to your bike. Just remember though, the brake will be better than the front suspension

So no one has found any callipers that fit directly on, from ANY bike from ANY manufacturer??? That’s a little surprising, but not unbelievable I suppose, what a shame
![]() The brackets look a bit gormless!!! They are not cheap either!!! ![]() |

Hence back to my original thought …. there must be some callipers off some bike that fit directly on?!?!!? All this said about 4-pots, the brakes on my old CBR6 were only 2pot, yet they felt pretty good (compared to the SV), so although floating calliper is technically inferior to 4-pots, there are better setups … perhaps it is the mastercylinder that is the week point on the SV, not the callipers?!?! Has anyone fitted a different mastercylinder to the standard callipers?!?! I have a master cylinder for a 4-pot setup, but I presume that the ‘ratio’ (amount of fluid pushed for given piston movement) would be all wrong if I try and use that with some 2pot?? Any thoughts on the master cylinder?? |
