Hi,
Had an arguement last night with a berlingo van on the way home, sat here now with my left wrist in plaster, apart from a dent in the tank and a few scratches to the bike in general, the main damage was to the impact point (lhs mirror) and the front fairing subframe, which has been bent!! So my question is, does anyone know how much the fairing subframe is to replace? does anyone know how much a lhs gear lever/footpeg is or cheap rearsets? Thanks Lawrence |

Damn, sorry to hear about your off. No idea of the parts cost on those, if it's an insurance job just take it to you local suzuki dealership (if it's rideable) and they should be able to do a quote for the damage. Needless to say brand new OE gear will be pricey and you could just pocket the cash and buy the parts off ebay/do it yourself.
It's a pity, your bike was looking good. ![]() |

Looking between £20 and £50 for the fairing bracket and maybe between £12 and £25 for the rider set.

A company like Motoliner in Maidstone can repair the subframe...
Cheaper than replacing! |

Sorry to hear about the off, the gear level was about £30 last time i checked, are u sure the fairing subframe isnt repaiable? The insurance company wont pay out without receipts (not estimates) for parts and work carried out, falsey claiming for parts you didn't buy and fit is basically insurance fraud and not the way forward, you will find it difficult to get new insurance in the future. Sorry ceri if i have got the wrong end of the stick here. Who fault was the accident anyway? If it was yours or a 50/50 then i would fix the bits myself, the exceess are going to wipe out most of the payout anyway. |

Sorry to hear
Try bending the frame straight before splashing out, its not visible or that structural. Heating steel works a treat and can help pin point a bend. Old fork legs and ring spanners put over the ends of frame tubes are great levers. A blacksmith/fab. shop should be able to weld the end (or one made up) back on your gear lever or drilll a hole and put a bolt through, tidy up with some rubber tube and a file. New parts are not always the way forward but if they are Ebay it; its nice that we are finally all getting our own back on the breakers for the prices they have charged us over the years!!! ![]() |

Insurance claim is a no go, it really was one of those stupid accidents, no witnesses we could argue about it all day!
Anyway got my gear lever and footpeg sorted (ebay), been to my local suzuki dealer and they've quoted £90+vat for the fairing bracket, the old one is bent and twisted! I this a good price? Anyone know of one that a can have? Lawrence |
