My K2 has a Scottoiler hiding behind the fairing which, going by the feedtube, needs a refill. I can't see the side of Scottoiler to see how full it is, so should I just be filling it until the fill-tube is, er, full? I assume you can't overfill the little things?
Sorry for such a stupid question, I didn't fit the Scottoiler, and didn't fancy taking the fairing off in an attempt to get a side view if I can simply fill it up without worrying. cheers Jamie |

The filling hole is on the side under a black rubber flap, so you'll need to get access to the side of the scottoiler one way or other. You'll see if you over fill it as the oil will start leaking out - a bit like putting too much petrol in your car . . .

I think that tube's a breather more than a filler... From memory, the instructions say not to use it. But I can't see any reason why not, to be honest. Not to say there's no reason.

You can remove part of the breather tube and attach the filler tube from the bottle but I find it easier to remove the black rubber stopper and put oil straight in there. Although you can't do that if the system is completely dry.

Also, you're not supposed to completely fill the resevoir, I can't remember the reason why, something to do with the valve near the breather not working as well and the flow oil will be impeded, or something like that. It mentions it in the manual if you want to check, but I'd say fill it 80% and just top it up more often. |
