Default Gearing

I am rebuilding my sv650 after an off at brands, and am wondering if anyone has experiance with larger rear sprockets. Like how many extra teeth to bring the top speed down about 10 to 20 mph, in exchange for more accelleration. Thanks.

I don't think you could get a sprocket that would take that much off the top end without turning your bike into a stunt bike. You could go up two or three teeth at the back and notice an improvement in acceleration. Going up any more than that would make keeping the front end down very difficult!
