Default Overtightened rivet link

Ok, have fitted a Rivet link to a standard suzuki chain (DID 525) on an SV650S K4. All went well untill the step on flaring the rivets to stop them popping out (seemed quite important that bit) was not sure how much force to put on and it was a bit of a case of "little more, little more, bugger too much"

One of the rivets is fine the other looks a little squished, there is a crack in the flared part but the part of the rivet that is loaded looks fine. Could someone please let me know whether this is:

"Ugly but not to worry"
"Should get that seen to at some point"
"Oh dear lord don't even think of getting on the bike"

Cheers

On a possibly related note, places that can sort this near Guildford if it's ok to move the bike a little way?

I did exactly the same. Have done a couple of thousand kilometers on the bike since and it doesn't seem to get worse or anything.

You could always just buy a new rivet link and try again.

When I ordered my chain I ordered a spare link for exactly this reason!

Fortunately it went well first time.

I'd say get a replacement link in.

My chain's the same and Rictus and Sid Squid said is was fine, so I'd venture an "Ugly but not to worry" .

I reckon the main worry is whether you've pinched the o/x-ring or not.

Links move fine, plates seem a good distance appart, it's just at the flared edge of trhe rivet that it's mangled. Cheers for input

For the cost of a rivet link I'd change it, but if your adamant you don't want to then keep a good eye on it until you haver confidence it aint going anywhere.

'Tis not my Motorcycle, so up to the owner, but wanted input on whether it was definitely safe to ride at all etc, I'd probably recommend picking up another rivet link or 2 and trying again though as this seems to be the general consensus.
