Default My mates Yamaha 2006 R6 vid clip (and my sv)

Went out on the bikes with a friend who has a 2006 model yamaha R6 i managed to convince him to let me have a go on it and to be fair it was absolutely mental.

The way it delivers its power is totally different to the sv you have to have no mechanical sympathy what so ever but my god does it move once the tacho is over 10k. (redline is 16500!! on the tacho anyway)

I was a bit overwhelmed by the speed to really notice the handeling at first but the brakes on it were superb and made me realise how poor the ones on my bike are.

The induction noise is addictive and the exhaust note is very loud considering its a standard can.

Its really far too small and too expensive for me but it was a great expieriance but it left me thinking would i really like to own a supersports bike like that?

Its all to easy to be going far to fast on that thing and get yourself into a heap of trouble. I had difficulty in keeping the front wheel down accelerating hard in 2cnd and its at illegal speeds almost straight away!!

Here is a vid of the bike doing a fly past (its on a long straight private road that has no other traffic or people on it before anyone complains)

R6 fly past (3.9 mb)

and here is a clip of my sv to compare.

sv same road (2.7mb)

The answer of course is "damn right I would". Be honest it is only the cost putting you off!

The SV sounds like a real bike!

I tried Jordan's ninja a while back. Excellent handling and brakes, and the howl! Totally insane.
