Tried the BMW Tuesday nice bike, fast, good road holing, clunky transmission, viby when accellerating and I was pleasently surprised that the SV felt really good when I rode home and made me appreciate what I have.

I've just bought a BMW to keep my SV company - a 1977 R100S. Now, where's my favourite pipe gone? Oh look, here it is, in the pocket of my cardie.

Sounds good to me...rode the BM...had a laugh went home on a SV and thought it was better.

That's a fair point, if moving from a Sv you really want to trade up or it's kinda pointless exercise. Choosing another budget class bike may leave you sorry you're not still on a SV...

I have also test ridden the CBF, but what you said it correct...test ride as many as you can.
