Default Tyres let go!

Coming back from Elvington bike races this evening, with the wife on the back. Exited the A64 on a long sweeping left hander and the tyres let go! Just taking it steady saved it O/K though!

Sounds like the standard Dunlops.

Was it the rear tyre?
Easy enough to bottom the shock out if you havn't enough pre-load dialed in.

The roads are very hot with oils and all sorts of crap pushing to the top of the tarmac, and hence they're far from as grippy as some people think. Glad you're okay.

Default Tyres:

Thanks for your concern everybody. I am running an Avon 45 S/T on the front and a Metzler MEZ4? on the back. The only time I have had this happen is when I am 2 up! Could have just been something on the road, because it recovered straight away. My wife did comment later that 'I was making progress" on the way back!

The MEZ4 was standard on the curvy, they're more sport/touring kind of tyre, with heavy emphasis on touring.
