Default Got my SV! First Day...

Well as the people who have been following my random threads I passed my test at the beginning of the month and then went to Serbia / Hungary untill yesterday (more information about that when I can be arsed to write about it)... anyway, my brand new SV650 got delivered this morning and Ive just got in from a day of getting used to it.

This is the first bike ive owned and have only ever ridden a 125 for 4 days before... wow this thing is responsive! Ive had so much fun on country lanes all day!

Ive done 150miles today of all types of roads and speeds, stuck below 5500rpm (which is REALLY hard to stick to) and also managed to drop the bike once. Was on a pin turn on a really steap incline, was in too high a gear a stalled. Bike wanted to go down and I couldnt save it so used all my strengh (not alot) to make sure it went down lightly, guy in a car in front of me saw me go stopped, checked I was alright and helped me with the bike. Only a scuff on the left crash protector and small scuff on left mirror... nothing bad

Anyway, im rambling on and i guess you get the gist of it

Still got a week off work and plenty of time to play so if anyone is in the Shrewsbury area for the next week and fancies going around for a ride PM me.

That's one thing with the SV, stalling while moving can be a beast, the way it hauls the speed down. It's caught more experienced riders out than you Glad it's not more badly damaged.

Yey!! Well i passed 500 miles today (well im on 560 now) after 4 days, I'm still alive, so is everyone / thing ive been near and there hasnt been another drop (touch wood) and now I can move up from 5500rpm to 8500rpm

First service is booked in for thursday morning and shouldnt be a problem getting to the 600 miles before then (as it 20+ miles to get to the place its being serviced) and feeling much more comfortable on the bike now. Bike journey back to London with all my stuff on Saturday and then attempting my first commute to work on the monday.

Well im talking to myself here but saves having to start another thread

Just did my journey back from shrewsbury to london, god motorways are boring, and naked bike for 4 hours at 80ish with tank bag, big rucksack, lots of stuff strapped to tail = ALOT of effort.

But it also pushed me over the 1000 mark... bike is now run in and I can enjoy it as I want the bonus aswell is nothing has died (except lots and lots of bugs)

That storm that hit a couple hours ago really made riding horrbile, I like riding in the rain but that was just taking the ****.
