Default Snatchy K6 Throttle

Anyone help me out making my K6 smoother on the throttle? My throttle is just an on off switch in 1st 2nd & 3rd. Slow corners are a nightmare and bumpy straights are a nightmare unless I slip into 4th.

Had a swap around on a K3 tonight and it was buttery smooth compared to mine. I didn't want mine back after it!

The guy who had a shot of mine said it just about threw him off.

He said it might be something to do with the K6 being fuel injection.

Whatever it is I could do with it being a lot smoother.

I've read in magazines that emissions laws are causing numerous 2006 bikes (not SV's) to be snatchy due to FI being altered to pass them. Maybe a Power Commander would sort it out.

Here you go mate....... the K3 is Fuel injected too - that all started way back then at the change to "pointy" design. This is the adjustment you need to check....

Click ME

Not checked mine yet, but it doesn't seem THAT bad to me.

Cheers,

Garry

Garry,

You are a star - I'll try this tomorrow. Mine's is a real nightmare and this may have something to do with the suspension diving on roll off - too much engine breaking.

The bike I rode tonight was sooooo smooth compared to mine.

I can go to bed now.

Cheers

There are three things to do, after checking the obvious (throttle cables etc)

Rebalance the carbs

Get the ECU remapped - may be required if you have changed the fueling a lot by a new can / filter etc

Do the TPS adjustment.

From what I understand, balancing the carbs is likely to have the biggest effect on jerkyness, TPS adjustment helps lower down the revs (useful for filtering etc) and a remap will smooth out the torque curve.

But first, fit some carbs
