Default Seedys bad day - long and depressing

Been on holiday for the wettest 2 weeks of the year (or so it seems)

Last day of my holiday

The sun was out this morning so - go for a ride

But theres some shopping to be done first

So ride over to BSE (local town) and meet wife and daughter there

Spend loads of money

Wife and daugher go home in car

Set off for ride on bike

Bike wont start

Battery seems Flat

Never mind - bump it down the hill

But it still wont start

Call the AA

They arrive in 15 mins

Bike starts immediatly from a jump

The battery charges

Run it fo 5 mins

Turn the engine off

Watch it discharge before my eyes

Diagnosis - Dead battery

Jump start it again

Off to the nearest dealers (Bowers) to buy a new battery

Pull up outside

DROP THE BIKE

Pick it up

Go buy battery - £56.00

Wait 3 Hrs for battery to be charged and fitted

Go home

Find out that the 159 mph cop has been found guilty of dangerous driving :P

But has been given an absolute discharge WTF!

Is this where I make your day worse and say it might not have been the battery?

I had this with mine, replaced battery and was fine for about a week, then it died again. Due to the rectifier not charging the battery up. Hope its just the battery but if you start having problems again within a week Id say it would be the rectifier.

:P

Hope not much damage from the drop too.

But, since i dont know how to check the reg/rec and neither did the AA man, I decided to get the battery and hope.

The way my luck was going yesterday - its the rec.

Didnt he also get caught doing 83mph in a 30mph zone?

Shocking. One rule of them etc etc.

Maybe we should all be coppers

Oh dear, but at least the weather was good eh Chris!

Dont suppose it was the slope to the left of Bowers shop that caught you out? Nearly come a cropper there myself before!

Im sure if you do a search theres stuff in Talk & Tweaking from Rictus or Sid Squid or one of the other knowledgeable peeps on the forum on how to test for it.

Failing that, Im sure a pm to either would solicit an extremely helpful response.
