Damaged my engine during oil change? - SV650.org

Just changed the oil and filter on my SV650SK3 for the first time and had planned everything before hand.
Even used a measuring jug so that I would put the right amount of oil in.
THEN - for some stupid reason I only filled it up with 2 litres before starting the engine and letting it run for a couple of minutes.

Checked the oil level window and saw nothing. Damn. Realised what I had done and filled up the rest of the way (another 700ml).

My question is do you think I will have done any damage? The sensible part of me says that it would be fine as it is not as though there was no oil in there and it was only idling a minute before i realised.
But I am now paranoid that I may have done some damage? Can anyone put my mind at ease please?

Oddly enough I am sure that when I looked at the instrument display it didn't even show the oil pressure warning light or any other lights? strange.....

As long as you didn't rev the nuts off it, should be fine.

as long as there was enuf oil (and there was, 1 litre is plenty) to make oil pressure, your fine the only way it would damage the engine not over reving, but running the engine so hot you cooked the oil and even then, it's not likely

I have been 2 litres low before with no damage to my engine
