Has anyone ever done MX before?

I'm thinking of trading in the R6 next year for a 250F or similar. I don't know much about it other than what I have seen on TV but I am itching to give it ago.

Any info will be appreciated, such as how much an MX trackday is, upkeep costs etc.

I did the Honda off road experience on Friday and it was Ace! Great fun and loads of time to play. I have bought a CRM250 to attempt green laning and the odd motocross track. The track near me is apparently £20 a day on your own bike but I have not been yet so it may be more!

they are photos from friday! I'm the one with blue lid, red goggles and blue and yellow boots - very hard to see the differences! lol

I would reccomend the Honda day to anyone - I thought I would find it hard, I'm short - could only et one foot down but once going was fine - managed to get some air time and slide around courners! Can't wait to try my CRM out now!

Still got the SV though - would never get rid of it!

I had a Suzuki RM125 a couple of years ago. Motocross is great fun but very expencive. I gave it up cause of the costs and the hassle of storing my bike and trailer. If theres a track local to you then its not so bad but my local track was 35 miles away. At £20 a day there it was not cheep then. Motocross bikes break all the time and need loads of maintainance. Dont even think about using your bike on waste land as the police just seize them these days and charge your £110 to get it back.
