Default Best and worst MPG?

It would interest me to know the best and worst MPG to expect from the fuel injected and carbureted. SV650.

Would appreciate as many responses as possible to create a data base. Could you please list:

Model year:
SV650 or SV650s:
Fuel Injection or Carburetor:
MPG: Best
MPG: Worst

I haven’t purchased an SV yet, but the information supplied here may influence my choice of which SV I want. Thank you all very much.

Model year: 1999
SV650 or SV650s: S
Fuel Injection or Carburetor: CARB
MPG: Best - 69.7
MPG: Worst -41

The best figure was riding VERY sedately. Going down a hill? Pull the clutch in and coast etc

Not yet tried out my naked sv.

My worst is around 20mpg Never worked that out before. Best would be high 40s. Though my miles are proper miles, not your OEM 9/10 of a mile

People saying they've got into the 60s- that'd be over 200 miles to the tank. Instigator, have you seriously done 240 miles to a tank? The most you usually see in those "miles to a tank" posts is 170.

Only until the light started flashing. Filled up with the appropriate amount and checked at the time.

I never chance it on reserve.

I could have got a good 20 miles or more too if I didn't hammer it several times. Self control is a hard thing.

i get 40-60 mpg, the time when i've got 60mpg i haven't drained the tank! it's just when the light has come on, i.e. my best was about 150 miles for 11.5 litres, which is (according to google) 2.52 gallons, hence making my mpg 150/2.52 = 59.52mpg...

normally though i do town/traffic jam riding and get about 100-110 miles to 10 litres making my normal mpg 45.66-50.22.

Thanks for the information. I have always been a cruiser rider. Currently I ride a Honda 1100cc Shadow. I love my Shadow and would not consider giving it up. I have never owned a sport bike, but I would like to also have a sport bike to add a little variety to my riding pleasure. I like the looks of the SV and think I would prefer the 90 degree V-twin engine over an in-line four. I was looking at a used SV650 naked version in the town where I live (Kalamazoo, Michigan), and was allowed to test ride it. I love everything about the bike except that I felt a lot of pressure on my hands and wrists. I have always been accustom to the more up-right riding position of cruisers. I am 64 years old, and not sure if I would get used to the riding position of sport bikes, or if I would have to modify the handle bars, but I am sure that I want a sport bike. I would appreciate any input.
