It would interest me to know the best and worst MPG to expect from the fuel injected and carbureted. SV650.
Would appreciate as many responses as possible to create a data base. Could you please list: Model year: SV650 or SV650s: Fuel Injection or Carburetor: MPG: Best MPG: Worst I haven’t purchased an SV yet, but the information supplied here may influence my choice of which SV I want. Thank you all very much. |

My worst is around 20mpg
![]() ![]() People saying they've got into the 60s- that'd be over 200 miles to the tank. Instigator, have you seriously done 240 miles to a tank? The most you usually see in those "miles to a tank" posts is 170.

![]() I never chance it on reserve. I could have got a good 20 miles or more too if I didn't hammer it several times. Self control is a hard thing. ![]() |

Thanks for the information. I have always been a cruiser rider. Currently I ride a Honda 1100cc Shadow. I love my Shadow and would not consider giving it up. I have never owned a sport bike, but I would like to also have a sport bike to add a little variety to my riding pleasure. I like the looks of the SV and think I would prefer the 90 degree V-twin engine over an in-line four. I was looking at a used SV650 naked version in the town where I live (Kalamazoo, Michigan), and was allowed to test ride it. I love everything about the bike except that I felt a lot of pressure on my hands and wrists. I have always been accustom to the more up-right riding position of cruisers. I am 64 years old, and not sure if I would get used to the riding position of sport bikes, or if I would have to modify the handle bars, but I am sure that I want a sport bike. I would appreciate any input.
