Default Number Plate Light Mod

I may add more leds or change them to some wide angle ones as these are not brill, gives good light on the plate but not all over, but im not complaining.

Granted this is not my idea, someone else on this forum has done it first and ive just copied.

Could barely see what you'd done there for a moment!!! Looks good though, and seems to fulfil the requirements for MOT. Take it you simply wired the LED's to the existing number plate wire then drilled those holes in the tail light lens?

Did you use any rubber gromits to hold the LED's in place? It's deffo a good idea and think I might have to take a trip to Maplins myself!!

I had a 3 led numberplate light but did not want to fit it on the plate, so i look the LEDs out, they were already on a board with a resistor, i just drilled the holes at an angle towards the numberplate and put them in covering in hot glue so it can be removed later if needed. I already have a wire going into the brake light for the alarm LED, so i just pushed another wire back through the hole and connected it up to the loom. Unforutnatly you cant take the front cover off competley, but enough as you can pull slack wire through the whole enough so you can check the bulbs if needed.
