Default Nekked, is it the way to be??

I have bought yet another curvy SV (don't ask ) ... a nekked one this time ... I have been riding it to work this week, my other SV is the faired model, this obviously is the unfaired.

The nekked one has handlebars instead of clip-on's, so the riding position is different, also less weight on the front due to no bulky fairing. It just feels a totally different bike .... I actually ride it differently too ...

A real bonus of a nekked bike is it keeps the speed down, anything over 60 and you get blown about a bit ... get to a ton and your lid is being rammed through your frontal lobe!!!

Bearing in mind speeding is physically uncomfortable, is having an unfaired bike the way to go?

Oh and will it make me more attractive to the opposite s3x??

You can get used to it all too easily - I have no probs sitting at 80-90 all day on motorways.

I did go down the M3 to Southampton on Tueday in a bit of a hurry as my mum had been taken into hospital, and must have averaged over a ton for 60 miles or so - had a bit of a stiff neck when I got off the bike

At 80ish my lid against my forehead is uncomfortable, at a ton it is unbearable!!! I just don’t know how you do it!!!

That depends on the lid, maybe? My old HJC was a killer on the faired bike at 100, but the Arai's comfy at, er, lets just say more and leave it at that

It is a good way of keeping speed down and still feeling like you are having fun, but I want to go fast on the motorways, so naked is not the way forward for me. I find earplugs help me to go 80-95, otherwise the whistling is unbearable. Buffenting up to 100 is okish, but gives me a headache after too long stretches.

After a conversation with Warthog today, all I can say is I'm chuffed I bought the SVS.

I'm able to sit almost bolt upright happily on my private runway at silly speeds, almost no buffeting. Buffeting only really hits my shoulders/neck/head one you stray to around 120+.

(kmh officer, honest!)

I've seen 2 naked blue SVs in the last two days (new and old shape) and I have to say I think they are the better looking when compared to the S model.
