Default best paint for fork legs?

I need to take my forks off and clean them up before another winter of abuse rots them for good.
Should i just black hammerite them or does anybody know of a harder wearing paint that would do the business.
I'd strip and powder coat but need it everyday now, so paint is the short term solution.

I used hammerite on my CB1 forks with no probs make sure you use the hammerite primer as well!! Let it dry properly it takes ages to go hard!!!
