Default ebay superstars.

Ok I know lots of you folks use eBay to buy and sell. Can you tell me if selling something is the most activity within the final 12 hour period? I ask as I am thinking if the article I have does not reach my bottom line figure I going to pull it right off there?
Any tips or guidance?

K where are you???

The bidding goes mad in the last few minutes set a higher starting bid nearer to what you want because if you use a reserve price it costs you more for your listing!!!

Now BIlly you did start off in a helpful mode, this appears to have deteriorated in to poor humour in the blink of an eye!

Well if it helps I started with a ridiculously low figure to get people to have a crack at it. With 3 days to go I am about half way to target...I sh*tting me pants if I'm honest!

So when the auction ends and the highst bid does not reach what you hope for,(No indicated sell price etc) can you simply refuse to let the highest bidder have the item? Will you be sine die for doing so?

In your description you can reseve the right to end the auction early due to advertised else where. But once someone has bid on it , it becomes more difficult!!I suggest you put a reseve price on it!!! Click on the item you are selling and edit your listing. It will cost you a bit more but not as much as if it would if it went for less than it's worth!!

I've seen items where the seller has said if the bidding isn't as high as they'd like with a few hours to go they'll simply pull the item. So I think you must be able to end auctions early

I've sold quite a bit of stuff on ebay. Not sure that you can put a reserve on after bids have been put on an item. I wouldn't worry unduly though, bidding usually goes mental in the last few hours.

I sold my old Honda on there. A couple of days before the end I got an offer a bit below my target price and provisionally accepted it as the bidding looked a bit quiet. But I couldn't end the auction (well I could have but I'd have got a black ebay mark against me, and I've got a 100% record to protect). So I calls the guy back and says sorry an all that.

Anyway, in the last two hours bidding shot up and I got well over my target price. The funny thing was the winning bidder was the same bloke who I'd provisionally agreed to sell it to - for £300 less than he eventually paid. :P I almost felt sorry enough to give him a nice discount (almost, but not enough to actually do it).

Anyway - it's a bit of a poker game so sit tight, keep ya cards close to yer chest and you'll be OK.

Cheers Keith

if u hae plenty of people watching it u will be okay.

if not i'd pull it whilst u still can. once u get to the last 12 hours u gotta sell it.
