Ok, this MIGHT be a little biased answer from you guys but you lot have always helped me out before.
Ive had my lil sv a few months, only been able to ride her since 25th Aug, took a mates zx6 for a quick blat the other day and really enjoyed it! Im torn between keeping her for 2yrs until im in the "safe zone" with my licence (new riders-if we get 6 points within 2 yrs il lose me licence!) and then selling her OR sell her now and buy a zx6...main reason for selling her now is becasue in 2yrs time il have clocked up quite a few miles (shes on 28k now) and i think id get a better price for her now...help! ![]() |

If you can afford getting and running a ZX-6R, get it. A SV can do 130mph easily so if you had no self control you'll be looking at a ban on it anyway.
Oh, and IIRC having a car licence before your pass means the 6pt/2yr probation period thingy doesn't count even if you add on a bike category. |

If you want it, can afford to run and insure it. Then buy it.

![]() ![]() I say do what you want, the J1 certainly is a very nice, bike with lvoely smooth power (*cough* on full power*cough*) Mine certainly shifted when required too...(see video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=24J86I-HYwU) When kept at legal speeds the MPG is really quite amazing - On the motorway top speed 65mph, I returned over 64mpg (well past 180 mile marker and it wasn't on reserve!) |

Keep the SV and spend some money on the suspension and brakes then you'll feel differently about it!!!

There is no point having a bike always wishing you had something else. If you can afford it, then get the bike you really want.

I actually had a ZX6..(600 not 636) before the SV. Do not regret the SV as it does all I want from a bike. I also much prefer the characteristics of a V Twin to the IL4. But hey, if you want a ZX6 that much, go for it. |
