Default ..so you want to have a better ride?

What aspect of your riding do you think if you good make a even the tiniest of improvement would make a big difference(for the better)to your overall riding.

Maybe you are at a point where you reckon 'that's it' but deep down you know you could go better/get more satisfaction if you could improve/change certain aspects. Lets try and be as specific as possible.

For me, it would be improving my ability on left handers. I've narrowed it down to not being able to get my body position right for some reason. Subsequently I really have to conciuosly will myself to relax but I need/want to be doing better than that.

Even though I'm sure I know what I need to do, probably could still do with someone watching from out side the box. This would give a different view of my perception of the problem. Right handers are no problems and everything I'm doing feels easy, natural and no need to think about what I am or should be doing.

Okay I said one but I'll take another.

Narrower country roads I could also do with improving ability to read better. Might be a case of just having a bit too much of a safety margin(is there such a thing? ) or just need an addition of a touch more testicular fortitude but definitely feel I could/should be going quicker than I normally do on them.

Cheers
Ben

I wish I didn’t have to ride like a tit at the slightest of provocation … you know like being in first gear

Any objection if I cross post this to the NG's at work Nick ?

I'm sure (judging by the comments I've read) that some of the other regulars would LOVE to hear you admit this !! :P

i love riding too fast on country lanes and i think i might live longer if i cool it abit
i generally ride to close to the hedges too i dont know why i just get more of a thrill that way
i usually make my own lines on the lanes and could do with doing this properly really to get the best view around corners as poss.

Must admit it has been a while since I posted something on the bike newsgroup at work to cause a stir … I’ll divulge another “My ride to work” story tomorrow … that normally gets them going!!!! Either that or say they are going to put a tax on cardigans!!

I need to improve on everything but low speed manouvering on my SV is a real bugbear. In particular mini roundabouts. I am absolute kak. It would be better if someone was infront of me with a red flag clearing the way

To know absolutely positively what my tyres are doing and going to do. Basically how much grip do I have for braking accelerating and cornering.
That would be my nirvana.

To instinctively know whats in front of me so I can hurtle round bends without any doubt i'll end up sitting next to a Volvo 340 DL (in red, the one that has to apply the handbrake at EVERY stop including roundabouts) driver with my bike occupying the rear seat space.

Somethings are iimpossible though
