Hi there!
As the topic title says, I'm hoping to race an SV next year, but I need a bit of help first. ![]() 1. What are the usual tuning options allowed for them? 2. Which classes are they eligible in? e.g minitwins, 600's, open class, etc 3. What can it's performance be compared to? 4. How easy are they to maintain? And the most important question: 5. How fun are they to ride? I've come off a 70bhp 400 Yam, which to be honest was awesome, I've heard the SV650 has amazing handling though. Thanks for any replies. P.S anything i should look out for if buying a second hand bike? |

REgarding what your looking for. Forks should be reworked including racetech emulators and a decent rear shock is a must and not a GSXR or ZX6R one a proper one like Ohlins, WP, Hyperpro etc etc. Bodywork choices are up to you so you could find anything from an unfaired one with a small nosecone on it to one like jakwrights bike from this year that had GSXR fairings on it with a WCM seat unit(looked very cool). Most people opt for GSXR K4/5 fairings though as they are easy to source cheap as chips. Lightweight subframes and fairing brackets are allowed so having them is a bomus and stripping the wiring loom down is also allowed to save weight. Titanium fixings are allowed so any of them is a plus. Also make sure whatever you buy has a spare set of wheels for wets as they are pretty hard to get hold of. The more spares you can get the better. Radiators and forks/yokes should be an essential for a spares kit as they bend very easily. Depending on your budget then i have a K3 unfaired mintwin for sale. comes with- -Spare wheels(no wets though), -Ohlins rear shock, -forks are K5 units that have done less than 60miles from brand new with springs oil and emulators upgraded. -Hindle full race system( not pretty but works) -K+N filter -Unfaired with rob witteys bodywork in primer bar the yellow panels. -currently fitted with standard subframe but i have a,lightweight one thats only just not straight. -Spares include Forks, yokes, Radiator, bars plus a few other bits and peices. Looking for around £3,000 07782141606 Bike is in Watton, Norfolk 10 miles from snetterton |

To answer question 1 fully, here are the official Minitwin regs you might want to take a look at:-
http://www.minitwins.co.uk/rules/rules2007a.html I have just read them myself as I too am thinking of building a Minitwin legal bike ![]() |

![]() It did happen, but its significance is diminished somewhat when you know the whole truth … read this thread (and read down a few posts) … http://forums.sv650.org/viewtopic.ph...183&highlight= |
