Default One very proud dad

Sophie played her violin in an orchestra for the first time last night, at a carol concert at Holy Trinity Church here in Shrewsbury. She was terrific. I couldn't believe it was my daughter up there with the big guns.

That's a cool achievement. Even though I don't play now, I'm glad my parents (notably Mum) encouraged me to learn to read music and turned my immature thumping rendition of 'Puff the Magic Dragon' into something a bit more sophisticated on the piano...

... OK, so I gave up in a fit of pique aged 14 when I was told I wasn't to be taught the Blues, only classical.

She looks really please up there - enjoying it.

Congratulations. Though there appears to be something wrong with the force of gravity in the first pic.

Blimey and I thought Liz had a big stupid grin on her face when she made her purchase on Saturday, it was nothing compared to your daughters in that 2nd picture

Best day for us was when Michelle decided to give up murdering moggies and put her violin in the loft.

Parents should not be forced to endure their offsprings violin practice. That is why we pay tutors
