i am in the process of cleaning my bmc filter. i have covered it in the cleaner and am wating for it to soak in. when i re apply the oil, will i have to spray it from the inside or will it be alright from the outside.

It doesn't really matter just make sure the filter is fully dry after you have washed out the cleaner and allow the oil to fully soak in, the filter material has a natural wicking effect and will ensure even distribution.
