Default OK so what happens when...(oil)

OK i was running low on OIL and I have a service on Monday so I figured just a dab to top up until Monday would do me.

Didn't even realise I still had a bottle of old 2 stroke stuff for my old bike until I had poured a couple couple of splashes in and went to put the bottle down to check the levels >_<.

Can I just top this up with "good stuff" from the bottle I MEANT to use and get the oil and filter changed on Monday or am I know stuffed and need to get the fairing off to drain the oil and fill up again with proper SAE 10W 40 4 stroke.

I'm a mechanical numpty, but the funny feeling in my gut is telling me that 'something is better than nothing.' Ideally, yea, drain it & re-fill with the proper stuff, but then, that'll be done on monday anyway.

Oh wait, that feeling is actually hunger... oh well.

I doubt if "a couple of splashes" will matter much in 3.5 litres of oil.

If it suddenly develops a power band at 16000 RPM and highsides you at the next roundabout you might have to think again.

I'll let you know.

It's showing about half full of oil at the moment with 1/4 of that probably being the 2 stroke stuff (I can tell because its the red stuff at the bottom of the dial rather than the yellow stuff floating on top of that....)

When I was a bit short I topped mine up with something that was meant to go in the petrol mower

Didn't make a bit of difference (but don't tell anybody )

You put grass in the sump?
I know SVs are a bit agricultural but that's pushing it a bit far.

1/4 of what you see in the window isnt that much. You have a good coule of litres of oil in there for it to 'mix'with. The bike may also smoke a bit.

Was it Castrol R?...hmmmmm....castrol R.

I wouldnt worry about it.

I would love to see the look on the mechanics face as he scratches his head wondering why the hell your bike smells of "Cazzy R"!

Biker Biggles will know what I am on about if no else does!

I know people who put Castrol R into the fuel of their 4-strokes sometimes, just for the smell
