Hi, I noticed that my 2000 SV was making a ticking from around the engine the other day. It only does this when the engine has warmed up and stops when I rev the engine slightly. I have not heard it while riding only when stood still.
Dont know if this is related to the problem but a couple of weeks ago when I stopped for petrol bout 1 mile from home the bike wouldnt start after filling up at first, after it started it seemed to run fine for bout 40 miles then a cylinder cut out then began cutting in and out. After a few miles it seemed to clear itself and ran fine all the way home. I had just a 33bhp kit fitted few days before this happened and dont know if its related, had same prob at petrol station the other day but it stayed on both cylinders. Thanks for any suggestions to both or one of these problems. |

Sounds like your cam chain is rattling due to a stuck/failed cam chain tensioner. If you do a search you will find out how to fix!
