how far have you ridden to find good weather?
I don't know about others, but this winter I have found myself riding all the way from home in Cambridge to Lincolnshire just to find dry roads and a bit of sun for a good ride. This is partly because I don't have access to my bike during university term time, but with the patchy weather in the UK this season, I wondered how far other forum members have ridden through the cold and rain etc for good riding conditions for a pleasure ride on their bike?
I reckon my maximum (so far) is maybe 150 miles or so before i get to the good dry roads, does that sound ridiculous to you? or maybe it pales in comparison to other people? Either way, I thought it might be a good conversation topic |

Not riding but flying to Melbourne in 3 weeks for a month of coastal cruising on my dad's Honda Deuville ........does that count?
To be honest, in this country if I see that it's peeing down before I leave I tend to put the bike back to bed and head down the pub (apart from the other week at Box Hill which was erm.....interesting!) |

About 1700 miles last summer in Europe if that helps? It was only a quick trip, 3 days i think, maybe 4.

I quite like riding in the rain, so the term good is usually anytime. Sub zero may put a stop to it.

I've rode to the South of Spain. Rain followed us all the way, but we always managed to just stay ahead of it. |

Coastal cruising on a Honda Dullville?
I know it's a good workhorse, but I didn't realize you could go to sea on one. How long before Peter Henry comes on and tells us he rides no more than 30 yards to find good weather?
