A good question.

The new Sport and cheapo Suzuki deals means not as much as you would hope.

£3k for a minter. 12k miles is quite a bit more than normal so maybe £2,800? Maybe less.

if you want cash then sell private or make sure you are getting a really good deal on what ya buying.

Dealers never give cash away.

2k !
Paid 3800 OTR for it 10 months ago (which I thought was a bargin for a new bike)

Its seems that if you actually use a bike for transport you are shafted , Had to give my Fazer 600 away as it had 55k on the clock , it had not missed a beat in that time & still did not use a drop of oil .Would have gone round the clock

I know most jap bikes will easily handle 50 k+ miles , however they hold no value .
The sensible bike maybe a BMW next as they hold their values better with large mileage.
Trouble is they are expensive to buy and would image expensive to run ?
I do like the R1100S though

Cheers Steve

I don't hold with the idea that you sell now to avoid next year's depreciation.Like anyone who buys new you have taken the big hit already, like about £1600 worth. If you end up with a two year old bike with 25,000 miles on it you won't lose another £1600.You will lose maybe £800 in the next year, and maybe £400 the year after that.Buying any new bike now will just start that all over again. If you do a high mileage, you really just have to think of your bike as a tool for the job,and forget about what it is worth to sell.More a case of if it lasts you five years and is worth £300 at the end,it's cost you £700 per year in depreciation. If you can make it last longer than that, and it should,it will have cost you even less.
My son's curvy has over 78,000 miles on it,so the engines are well good for it if you change the oil regularly and don't scrimp on the valve clearances.
