Are you not tempted to get it restricted first, rather than selling it? The SV is a great new rider bike, quite small, handles well and with a friendly power delivery that'll take it as easy as you want to until you're ready to start playing. IMHO, you're better off keeping the SV and growing into it than getting a smaller bike and growing out of it straight away. What are you thinking of getting instead?

Welcome to the madhouse, by the way!

Wot e sed !!!!

SV is my 1st bike (well second but I keep arguing that a CG125 doesn't count).

Great bike the SV seriously consider keeping it - you wont regret it.

Oh and if its because you are worried about dropping it - kick the side stand out from under it befor e you ride it - saves the worry later

Haha I like that logic. If something has already happened then you can't worry about it happening

Now to sort out my fear of heights........

To be honest I got the SV as my first big bike last year, the guy in the showroom was like here's the keys have fun... I was like, "but I'm 2 scared!" took me about 10 mins to pick up the courage to drive off.. felt very strange at first adjusting the way i drive with the extra power with the front lifting each time i changed gear, but I loved it after the 25 mile trip home, so good in fact that I did another 100 miles that day. oh those were the days when we had sunshine (may last year)
Take it easy whatever u choose m8.

Now to sort out my fear of heights........
I got a shiny new SV in August (got a shiny one because of 0% deal) dropped it a week and a half later - busted brake pedal and a bit of scuffing, worried less about the bike from then on.

Only problem, I didnt learn enough so I decided to through it down a country road end of December - do the other side - didnt count on the busted collar bone tho - but I now have no worried about chucking my bike down the road

As for the fear of heights.....

Find a high place - tie yourself to something solid - rope short enough to see the height, but not so long you can fall off, then do something that you like doing - reading, listening to music, whatever - see that its not so bad - next time leave rope at home.

That will be £50

I am just so skittish about it. I have to admit it is a great bike

So will just have to work at keeping it

Thanks all

Keep it! You'll give yourself a damn good kicking if you sell this one, pick up something tame(r) and get bored of it in a couple of months. The SV's pretty forgiving, and anything less wont put the same calibre of grin on your face.

Get some training - perhaps a day with a school on a hired bike. Then do a bike safe course on the SV. That should help your confidence a lot.

Seriously, it's a great first bike - certainly nothing more or less to be scared of versus any other bike of it's class.
