Hi all,
Since it was a nice day, decided to have a bit of a blast between Glasgow & Newcastle, down the A68 which is a fantastic rollercoaster of a road. The distance between the 2 is too long for 1 tank at around 160 miles so I had to fill up. I left with a full to the brim tank, covered 131.5 miles, filled it to the top again with 13.51 litres = 44.24 mpg. Considering the speeds i was travelling at I am quite frankely amazed. Would be interested to know how this compares to other's fuel consumptions. (Bike is a K4s) Ali. |

The best fuel economy I've ever had was when I rode to Spain.
I think once you're up to speed your usuage is pretty modest due to inertia. Stop, start riding is supposed to be the thirstiest. |

The A68 is a great road compared to alternative, the the A1.
I'll never forget coming down that in dark, peeing down and gail-force winds with a pillion on my GS500, being thrown into a crash barrier on a corner at 20mph and doing £400+ of damage (the barrier shreded the engine). |

The A68 is Brilliant! I used to work just outside Otterburn on the the MOD firing range...man how I wish I could go back there just to ride the road up to the Scottish border! What an awesome bit of road. It gets better when you head down toward Hexham from Rochester

I got 17 miles with a solid petrole warning light yesterday. not sure how that would translate to mpg, 'cause i'm not sure if solid light is 1 or 2 liters left. pretty good all the same

A couple of weeks ago on a run from Cardiff to near Abingdon (motorway and A-roads) I got just under 59mpg from the Hornet.
176 miles from the brim-fill and the fuel warning light hadn't come on........... I thought it was broken ![]() In normal use - commuting and A/B road blasts I get 45-50mpg and around 145-150miles to the fuel light. Nothing in it between SV and Hornet, I'd say. |

If I'm out for a blat, I'm looking at 80-90 to flashing light... If I'm just commuting (er, and if the bike's set up right) then I'll do 160 every time

Could only get 13 litres in this morning, for 156 miles of commuting = 54.6mpg, which is the best I've seen so far and seems to be improving... have recently been making much more use of the screen when buzzing down the A2 so that's probably helping out a bit
