Default Ron Haslam School

Hi,

I'm considering doing the Ron Haslam Elite School (the one using the blade), Has anyone ever done the elite school, I'm considering of booking myself on to one this spring/summer. I did the premier course last year on the CBR600RR which I though was good, I've also done the CSS levl 1 which I thought was better.
Does anyone know if the elite school lasts longer then the Premier, ie longer than half day or include more teaching? From what I've heard doing the CSS level 2 would be better, however I realy fancy having ago round the track on a Blade, as my ZX636 is the fastest bike i've been on and i really wanna have a go on a litre bike.

Any thoughts would be much apreciated.

Cheers
Will

I believe you only get 4 sessions but its 1 to 1 unlike CSS which is usually 1 to 3 and class room sessions.

I did CSS level 1 last year at Rockingham and I thought it was quite good but not outstanding. I've heard good things about Ron Haslam school but I can't see the appeal of 1L bike when you're try to be fast on track as its all about the lines and braking, turning and accelerating smoothly - which may be better on a bike you know. I'd be tempted to just ask a local dealer to take the blade out for an hour if you want a go!

The best track experience I have had, without question, is the Track attack Premier at Donington GP circuit with Niall MacKenzie. The track day is about £200 and for another £200 you get Niall so show you round with 3 other riders. You get to go out every session in the morning so that's worth the money on its own, but with Niall showing you round it is unbelievable how you go from riding very moderately to blazing up the advanced group (not guaranteed though!). I went through half way through 1 knee slider and a set of boot sliders in 2 sessions (now have higher pegs!) You're on your own bike and its a long morning and you get the rest of the track day in the afternoon - I was knackered by the end of it.

In the Elite group, I think you have the option of 'Blade or CBR600.

I have just booked a session with Ron Haslam School for June, they were really friendly and happy to answer any question. They also ask what level and riding experiance i had so i would be kept with riders of similar ability

Perhaps you could check and see if your local library has / can get the Ron Haslaam DVD? Or perhaps a mates got a copy. I got it for christmas and it's a good watch. They show you what goes on at each of the levels and it just looks great - end of story.

I should also think that if you visit their website of give them a call, you'll get all the answers you'd want.

Good luck,

Garry
