Default HELP! Is this a pointy front wheel? (hub dimensions req'd)

Following on from another thread.....

I think i have ended up with a pointy instead of curvy front wheel, bought off ebay yonks ago but never needed to fit it til now.

It certainly isn't a curvy one as the hub is wider than my currently fitted wheel.

Can a pointy owner please help ID this?
Hub width (gap between where the discs sit) is 122mm on this one.

Also, has anyone even fitted a later model wheel on a curvy?
Offhand, I'd like to know spacer sizes....
a) between bearings
b) between bearings and fork.
c) disc alignment to caliper - i'm hoping this can be solved by using the discs to suit this wheel

Ta.

I'm vaguely thinking that might be an SRAD GSXR wheel... Numbers are in the same ballpark as my vague recollections at least.

<edit- was that vague enough?>

It's not SRAD Northy. SRAD is 130mm between disc mounting surface.

Vague enough? Nah.... got to try harder

Ok, i have worked out it's not a pointy SV wheel, the spoke design is wrong.

The spokes on this are same the design as a curvy SV. Straight, with tapering oval cross-section.

So, could it be a later Bandit12 wheel? Aaaaaargh.

I reckon so... But I thought the pointy wheels were the same overall shape as the curvy, so take that with a pinch of salt. There's usually an 03 Bandit 12 outside my work, I'll have a look tonight if it's there.

Right, had a quick look at the Bandit, and it does look much like you describe... Could only estimate wheel width though unfortunately. I may take calipers tomorrow, and if I'm really lucky, someone might call the police

The dedication of some folk on here to help out an SV'er in need never ceases to amaze me. I mean, you'd risk a night in the cells??? If it's alright with you - i'd rather you didnt actually 'remove' the wheel to check it. Anyway, it looks like i may have one here already! lol.

I see what you mean about pointys looking the same. I've just realised it was a thou front end pic i checked. Not the same as a 650 are they, d'oh!

So much for Suzuki's infamous swapability issues.

The clue with SV wheels is the bearings on the front wheel are a small od which means you can only fit bearings with a 17mm I'd, the speedo drive won't fit a B12 wheel and needs a narrower spacer to replace it.

It's demented, isn't it? In this linup we have: GSXR SRAD, SV650, Bandit 1200, all with cosmetically identical but actually different front wheels. There might be others, I think the Teapot front wheel was different too. The hubs and speedo details vary, but that's just bad design, they could've had one universal wheel that'd have done all their 3.5x17 fronts.
