Real Cost of a Harley.
Thinking more about getting a Harley Davidson (yes, I know that I will get stick for this
Anyway, I notice that for the equivalent 883 Sportster in the good ol USA you would be looking at £3,300 whereas the on the road cost here would be £5,200! So, if anyone is going to the States shortly, any chance of bringing me one back in their hand luggage! .............although I actually quite like the Dyna 'Street Bob' |

Re: Real Cost of a Harley.
I think your real cost should factor in the accessories that every new Harley rider needs, like decent sounding exhausts and working brakes...
...and that beer gut will take years of investment. |

Re: Real Cost of a Harley.
Do you mind me asking what you like about that bike?
I'm not really a fan of them if I'm honest, but would be interested to hear what it is you like about them or is it just one of those things? |

Re: Real Cost of a Harley.
Or of course the loss of any credability as a motorcyclist

Re: Real Cost of a Harley.
If at sometime, for whatever (medical reason ?) I feel the need for a pushrod engine, I'll get it attached to a pickup or a van thanks.
Cheers Mark

Re: Real Cost of a Harley.
Rictus, I used to love the rattly asthmatic A-Series engine in my old Mini...............Yeah, perhaps you have a point!
That aside, has anyone on here had much experience/test ridden a Harley? |

Re: Real Cost of a Harley.
Your crazy mate, for the price of a tub on wheels you could have a good Bandit 12 or something similar. Those are as "BadAss" as a Harley .. if thats your thing. With Harley's all your really doing is paying money so that a couple in their 60's can stand and say "thats a lovely machine you have" or have a man with a beard and sunglasses hit you over the head with a chain for being too close to his gang. :P
