Default Hot weather

Hi Folks,

left my SV in the sun today and noticed a small oily residue under the bike when i came back, the bike has never leaked before and I just wondered if it was due to the high temperatures today, and if it is were is the leak coming from?

Clean off all the oil. Go for a short blast. Then look for the highest point at which the oil appears. That'll be where the leak is. Torque up all the bolts using a torque wrench at the correct setting. Also check your coolant, you maybe running hot due to low level or poor circulation.

I have a slight weap from the clutch cover.

Had you just re-filled the bike? May be from the overflow tube.

Thanks for the replys, its a strange one needed to clean out the garage, left the bike in the sun when I came back there was a small patch of an oily residue under the bike it has not done it since, or previous my only thought was the high temperature on Sunday, does the coolant have anything in that would leave an oily stain?

Have you got a Scotoiler? I've been caught out by mine before if I forget to turn it down when the weather warms up. The oil gets thinner, collects up by the front sprocket and drips down by the side stand.

I have got a Scotoiler! I will check it out, the oily residue was quite thin which would match with Scotoiler oil.
