Depends on the kid. I took my lad as pillion at 8 years old. I was happy he would sit still and hold on. He was small enough not to upset the bike if he did something wrong but smart enough to understand things that could go wrong.
If I trusted the child then there is no age limit. The limiting factor for me would be getting good kit for them. I noticed DK had some great kiddies kit. |

I shirk taking pillions at every opportunity...i cant enjoy the ride with some ape(-ess) on the back.
That said i would have to trust that the individual is physically and mentally up to it....if they met that criteria i would bungee a newborn to the pillion seat ![]() |

"trust" seems to be a recurring word here.

I hate taking pillions as they are always larger and heavier than me... though seeing as children under the age of about 14 are the only ones who are smaller and lighter than me I s'pose it would be a possibility.
Apart from the other factor - I have small hands... I can just about manage to fit my life in them, so there's simply no room for anyone elses I'm afraid. ![]() |

He has now had the same leathers that I bought when he was 15 for 5 years. Fit him real well now, bought a bit big. Have to keep the girlies away from him when he is wearing them (git! ![]() |

I take my 6 year old and 10 year old out (obviously not together!!)
Both fine, and love it. 6 year old worries me a little, but that is parental instint rather than anything he has done. They both have good kit, with motorcross body armour underneath aswell. It is a bl**dy ordeal getting ready to go out tho! I always take the yougest, other half takes the eldest, can hardly tell they are there! |

As long as they can reach the pillion pegs, I can't see any real problem.
