Default I found a top copper tonight!

On the way home tonight, came onto the A55. Merrily chugging away in the sunshine, holding 5k RPM, doing just under 70mph. Not a care in the world.

Slowly my speed picks up a little. I'm so relaxed here that I'm riding with my left elbow resting on the tank. Then I see a panda car in my mirror. Right, game time.

He comes past me, and pulls into the left lane, and we carry on this merry little dance for a fair few miles. As soon as he passed me I looked at the plate to see if it was yesterday's officer, it wasn't.

So we're now both doing about 80-85mph, I'm keeping a safe distance.

Coming up to the 50mph zone Colwyn Bay, he slows to about 60. So I move to go past (still in a 70 zone). Then I hear the siren, so I look left assuming he's going to hit the gas & shoot off. That's when I see he's got his window down.

"Slow it down passing the Bay bud, speed trap on the on-ramp! "

I did exactly as he said, and sure enough, there was the V70 parked out of sight.

See, they're not all Top bloke

Maybe so hovis.

Like I said in the other thread, acceptable risk. If they can speed when not on a call, so can I.

If I get points/fine for it, I get points/fine.

It wasn't that long ago that Jen got points & a fine for speeding in the car. 36mph in a 30zone (I posted about it on the org). I sent off the letter saying that the NIP was overdue so couldn't be acted on. They replied saying that they were going ahead anyway. My reaction? Ah stuff it, isn't worth the hassle, pay up.

Take the rough with the smooth.

he's just telling you to slow down, there should be more of this, less of the catching folk out, and more concentration on the actual road saftey.

then again, Baph, you need to stop playing with the cops, you're eventually gonna get yourself in big poo poo, they aint all that nice as you well know from yesterday.

In all honesty, I don't see it as playing, just me being me. When I'm playing I'm far more cheeky.

Maybe I have that complex, what's it's name? The one about the big red button marked "DO NOT P..." Too late...

brilliant! i've got no faith in the police, but i'm glad there's a few out there willing to use their discretion on crimes that are so insignificant. Speeding tickets and exhaust warrants are easy pickings...

Nice to hear North Wales Police aren't all evil vindictive Nazis.

And what the hell is an exhaust warrant?

Nice to hear.
When I was a cheeky youngster my boss would always say "Don't push your luck" Right or wrong doesn't always matter.
I know you don't regard it as a game but I can't think of another way of describing it - but think its a game I'll pass on. I used to have the attitude that ok I'll 3 points if I get caught speeding plus a fine, worth it as still got room on licence for a mistake in between. then my wife got 9 points over a period of a few weeks and had no idea until the letters started to roll through. No slack then for 3 years!! I reconsidered my attitude! Speed? Oh yes, but not when the risk is blatantly obvious like a camera or cop car. Acceptable risk? Nah, there are so many opportunities to blast as there are few cop cars about!

I must be getting old...

All I can say is good luck with it, Baph. It ain't fair, I think someone is shining on you at the moment (except when you go round corners )!

But to all you new/young riders out there with years of fun ahead ... think carefully, wrong miscalculation in this particular game and you could be without your new toy for sometime - gutted? I would be.
