Grass is always greener on the other side... Spend any time with owners of modified cars and you'll find they all complain about bikes with noisy cans and illegal plates, and how it's only the poor car modders that get persecuted

As an owner of both a modded car and bike I can tell ya there ain't much difference in the harrasment levels.

It's got more to do with what area your in or how you drive/ride!

Down here in the South West they kinda just let you get on with it unless your bein a numpty or dangerous with you driving/riding.

In Shrewsbury there's a BMW 3 series with 'WJM 450 N' which used to read 'WJ MASON' on the back and front. It's now legal on the back but still illegal on the front. I simply don't understand all this names etc on plates, vanity and a waste of money. I spose if you've got enough £ to waste on the plate, you've got enough to waste on the fine.

I was going to get SV650 BAP on the bike. On a standard style plate, 7x5 (like my current one is).

But I figured it was too unique to both me & the bike, and if I do sell it on, well, it's not really worth keeping the plate with me & it'd add naff all to the sale value.

Someone enjoys it, you don't have to understand.

Personally, if the plate's clearly legible, then I don't see what the problem is. Dishing out fines because of spaces not being in the right place, or god forbid you used Arial font instead of Times New Roman (or whatever the legal font is) is over the top.

i like the ozzie way- anything goes. They figure its easier to remember 'dickwad' or 'bike' or some other lameass no. plate quickly than 'gh54 oqt'. I remember seeing a hearse with a plate 'stiff one'

What makes you think they have a focus on cars?
