Just got mine last week, already put a few hundred miles on it. Must say that this is a great bike and a great way to get to work and back. This is my second bike the first being a Yamaha xt225 enduro. I thought a duo purpose bike would be nice but 90% of my commute is 60mph or better and this bike was not liking it. So an upgrade was needed and that is how I found my 99 sv with 4,400 miles on it. The 60 mph is no problem anymore

I'm glad you're loving your bike but where the hell has it been for the last few years ? 4,400 miles in that long either the previous owner didn't like it or only wheeled it out for a polish now and again.
Nice to hear you are using it though. I still love mine, brought it new in March and managed to cover 3000 so far. can only use it for commuting as weekends are taken up with wife and kid stuff but that's why I bought it and that's fine with me. I've had bikes for a long time and all sorts of engine configurations but I have to say that this is by far the most rewarding to ride so far. Enjoy and ride safe. |

It is my opinion that the majority of American bike owners only use them once a week if that. This is from observation of when I was over there. For example my mate's father in law is a biker, has a Harley Road King, an old 80's Goldwing. He also had a 80's CB750, which was his first bike, which he gave to his son. His son never rides it, just wheels it out to pose on when his mates are around. People who own bikes over there ALSO own cars, which they use for the day-to-day stuff, and the bike is just there for if they feel like using it, or going to a rally, or just to the local biker hangout on. My bike has done as many miles as the one that was posted about in 8 weeks as that has in 8 years......
