Beckett....I hate you

1x 3000 word essay - on the insidiously disquieting nature of brokendown narrative in Beckett.

1x 8000 word essay - on the literary development of dystopian fiction in the 20th century, focusing primarily on Orwell, Huxley and Philip K ****

Both of those for Monday. Then another 2x 3000 word essays for next Friday, another on Beckett and one on the philosophical poetry of Pope, Akenside & Cowper.

It's sunny outside and all I want to do is go out riding to Hartside. Damn you Beckett you old bugger

Could be worse, you could have to write 10,000 words about some awful crap (IMO) like Dickens.

At least Huxley, Orwell etc are interesting. Never actually read any Beckett.

You didn't miss much. It's basically 2 scenes, which repeat each other. I once heard it descibed as "Nothing happens. Twice"

Phew - reminds of the weekend I had to do three philosophy essays for the following Monday in the last weeks of university.

Not nice, but got through it.

If it's any consolation, I'll be in Islington library all BHW revising for accountancy exams!
