Default Bagster Seat

It’s been a while since my last post (OK well over a year! So forgive me!).

I was cleaning my bike yesterday so I took my Bagster Seat off. It is approximately 18 months old and probably only done a few hundred miles (sad really, total waste) anyway, when I took it off I noticed that it was coming apart at the seams! I’ve had to put my old seats back on because I’d be worried about it getting worse whilst riding. I was so excited to get this modification but now really disappointed.

I’m really unimpressed that something with virtually no wear and tear is in such bad condition and wonder if anybody else had experienced this? I’ve no idea what sort of warranty came with the seat as I got it done through a local garage and as such have no paperwork.

I’ve also no idea how to contact Bagster/Baglux and their website is no use at all!

Any ideas!?!

Natasha

I have noticed the same on mine - just a small section of stitching come apart under one side of the seat. I'll attempt to stitch/glue/repair it as I don't have my rear seat anymore, and besides I don't want to go back to the stock plank.

How bad is yours, Natasha?

It's coming away in 3 seperate places, between the leather and tape used to secure it to the seat mold and I'm more annoyed because its had hardly any use, imagine what it might look like if I'd actually been riding it!!

I'm going call them today to see what they say.

I bought mine just before Christmas and loving it so far! (SOOO Much better than stock!)
I'm really hoping that this is a minor thing as I'm meant to be going over 3.3k miles over two weeks in the summer! Don't want it coming apart half way round

I've just spoken to Baglux and they want me to send in some pictures. Until they've seen the deterioration they can't tell me what they can do, but indicated that it would probably have to be sent back to France. She said the seats usually come with 12 months guarantee but I did explain that it has completed very few miles.

Keep you posted!

We've had our Bagster seats for two years and over 25,000 miles, and apart from a small mark where the cat's claw caught the seat, they are in perfect condition.

Which model seat do you have?

Hi folks,

Are the bagster seats a lot better for the Pillion too?

I have a new SV650 and after a weekend in wales my missus
was a bit saddle sore!

Plus - do the bagster seats lower the pillion slightly?

Cheers

pjt2005 -

i'd say the bagster seat is well worth the investment for both rider and pillion. I've also got a triboseat cover on the pillion end of my bagster seat and my pillion says its very comfortable and doesn't slip. Not sure it would make much difference to height. How short is your pillion? Mine is very short too!

My stitching problems seems to be stable - ie its not getting any worse. I have done quite a lot of miles with it so I'm not complaining too much - and it was 2nd (or 3rd) hand when i bought it. I'll post here when i get round to repairing it.

I've got the 2into1 for my 650s x plate.

Bagster is very comfy and a really good mod, I'm worried about the problems with mine but its obviously not a widespread problem.
