Default the emperors new clothes - Now with pictures!

Just a few shots of the bike.

Had to get photographic evidence that shows it doesn't always rain up here on the northwest coast. It just seems that way!

First off a couple of shots with the Cuillin Hills. Just waiting on meeting up with a mate at this layby - was a realllly nice day so out with the mobi.....

And again....

And a couple of shots the day i got the bike on the road again....
Taken with the Old Man of Storr in the background (always reminds me of The Thing from X-Men!!!!)

NB: lack of mudguard on all these - lacquer still to be done! I was impatient by this stage - I'd already missed 10 days of great weather in March.
Like so.....

So whats been done over the winter?
From the front:
Aquired a pointy front wheel by mistake and got the pair powdercoated in Candy Red before realising my mistake.
So, adaped to fit inc. new bearings, spacers, blanked off speedo drive, pointy discs (carriers re-painted), stripped brakes, new pads, mudguard painted to suit.

Tank, my own sprayjob idea. Sometimes i like it - sometimes not.

Seat infills by me- 5bar treadplate alloy.
Tail lifted by subframe adapters - risen by approx 2" at pillion, 1" rider.

New tail tidy/undertray - handmade by me in 5bar again. Replaces all but the batterybox part of original bikes snowshovel. Now has oodles of space for storage.

Seatpanels, all sprayed jet black. LED stop/tail replaces original.

Rear wheel/sprocket carrier powdercoated.
14F/45R gearing. Rear calipers stripped, new pads.
Fitted the Diablo Strada's myself, first time i've done it. Nervewracking at the time, but so glad i did it myself.

Given the thing a damn good cleaning.

Still no sign of Valtermoto rearsets - hurry up intobikes.co.uk!!!!!!!
And next to spoil it all, i'm adding a renntec rack (thanks dirtydog )

The clocks are not Veypor, couldn't afford them at the time.

They are made by Acewell. You can get them from Banditmania - with various upgrades. Mine is the basic Speedo, Tacho bar, clock, trip etc. with blue backlighting. £80ish. Pretty decent gizmo for the cash.

Will get more shots of the tank at the weekend maybe, as i'm planning a trip to Dornoch on the East coast.

Ahh, the reservoir! At first i didn't like the way it stuck out so much, so i swapped to a naked SV style integral one- but snapped that one in an off. Bugger, eh!

But now, i quite like it - gives me a bit of wind protection!!!!!!!!
