Default Just doing some housekeeping

and came across pix of my bikes. Think you've seen them before.

First off was my SV, my first bike,a K3. I wish it had lasted longer than it did but for those of you who complain abut the SV's brakes, my experience was that there is nothing wrong with the front brake. Especially when leaning into a left hander Well here it is:

When I could walk again I wanted something small and non-challenging to get my confidence back. So I bought one of the bike school's cast-offs. Don't laugh. Please. And yes I know the garage was a tip.

I hated it. After the SV, it was miserable. It didn't last very long, it got chopped in for this:

I liked this bike. It was easy to ride, did what it said on the tin. Don't underestimate a Hornet, they are chuckable, fast, and terrific fun. Entirely predictable behaviour, I knew the limits.

And then I saw my present bike. I hadn't gone to Wylies to buy, only to have a look - in fact at the then very new-out 675, saw this and It's a terrific bike, the handling is fantabulous. Fast - and to be honest, so damn fast that it scares the crap out of me, but very useable at lower power - don't believe all the drivel about SS600s being unrideable except in a high power band. I have terrific fun on this beast at 6 - 7K, but it's true that at 10 - 12 it's even better Handling is exactly what you'd expect, and it turns heads everywhere. Yep, my P & J, even though the damn thing spat me off last December when I was least expecting it. I love this pic:

Yes it's cool

Planned - well I'd like to, but it's a quezzie of expense. Have seen a blue 06 Sprint in Wylies, it's very nice, I'm hoping to do a test on it this or next weekend, but I need to count the shekels carefully.

Totally different bike that Ed. I tries the new Sprint twice, but it just didn't quite do it for me. Suspension was a bit too soft, mirrors vibrated so much they were useless, and what's with having a huge tacho and small (analogue) speedo with even smaller numbers ?

The pillion seat is as high as a sports bike, and it could do with some better colours too.

However, it was very comfortable though, and with the Triumph "sports" exhaust system, that 3 pot does sound lovely.

Bit of an old pic this as the bike now boasts a CCC carbon thingy. It's loud!

The new Tiger is a nice machine. People who have ridden it and the Sprint seem to prefer it (n=2 ). A large tourable ubermoto really.

Aye, the new tiger is good. Surprisingly fun for a 'practical' machine. I found it had good grip on bumpy mud covered lanes, too.
