Default Broken Oven

Was cooking my Pizza tonight when the oven lost all electricery. So I switched it back on at the fuse box and all seemed well. All the lights & fans come on as usual but it doesn't heat up even though the red light saying it's heating up is on, and the electricity meter is hardly moving.
The grill still works
So any ideas on fixing it?
cheers

Sounds like the main heating element has shorted. If it's a few years old I'd buy a new one.

Slide it out and you may find an overheat stat mounted on the top. Depress the red button and it may work - not all ovens have them accessible. Dont forget tp turn the power off before.

p.s. why dont you finish the pizza with the grill?

Probably the main heating element has blown, usually very easy to replace and would probably cost 20-30 quid

Heating elements will usually trip the circuit when they fail. Almost certainly the problem.

Loads of places online where you can get elements, make sure you have exactly the right make/model though, there are zillions of different designs.

Usually pretty straightforward to replace, just normal screwdrivers etc required. ISOLATE BEFORE GOING IN THERE!!!!

Nothing is pretty straightforward where Stu is involved

+1 for element. Happened to our oven. I got Dad to fix it though so am unable to offer further advice.
